Purpose of Role

The Mobile Applications Engineer role is within McLaren Automotive’s Connected Services team, under Product Development department. Our team is responsible for development and delivery of Connected Services and Cyber Security solutions for cross carlines of McLaren vehicle product range.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Participate in the end-to-end System V product development cycle for Telematics Mobile App features.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to develop and deliver Telematics Mobile App features.
  • Lead the complete lifecycle of Mobile Apps, including product strategy, proof of concept discussions, and defining functional, business, and operational use cases.
  • Create and manage the Mobile Apps delivery services solutions for customers globally, working with multi-regional App platforms and network/service providers.
  • Be responsible for the development and delivery of Mobile Apps for the company.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Awareness of Software development process and System V lifecycle
  • Apps development and UI/UX design support experience is favoured
  • Experience with UI Design tools (such as Sketch) are plus
  • Experience working in Connected Car team and awareness of new gen Connectivity features/ solutions
  • Awareness of Connected Car, MNO and TSP general functional architecture
  • Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps experience is preferred
  • Experience of issue resolution and stakeholder communications/ reporting
  • Experience in writing requirements and perform product accept validations
  • Awareness of DevOps practices, SDLC, Agile and matrix organization work culture
  • Familiar with vehicle architectures and networking
  • Mobile Network routing/ standards and regional compliance requirements understanding

  • A UK vehicle driving license
