This role, reporting directly to the Group Treasurer, is required to support and assist the Group Treasurer and business to enable management and delivery of efficient cash management, foreign exchange risk management and funding for the business whilst maintaining an effective control environment which minimises financial and operational risk.
Based in Woking, the role requires the individual to provide the first level of support within the business for the Group Treasury function. The successful candidate will be required to develop a strong working relationship with Finance and work with a variety of teams across the McLaren Group to ensure all key treasury related activities are controlled successfully. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to build relationships with different people from a variety of backgrounds to achieve a common goal.
The role requires an individual with a hands-on approach who would like to build on their experience and knowledge through working closely with the Group Treasurer.
- Management, supervision and support to Treasury Analyst
- Management of the delivery of daily cash position, including variance analysis, review of treasury transactions including foreign exchange and payment team proposals
- Management and positioning of all Group bank accounts including use of foreign exchange swaps, and bank transfers to concentrate cash or debt to minimise interest costs
- Regular foreign exchange deal preparation and execution with external banking providers
- Daily management reporting of cash / debt position to wider finance teams. Monthly reporting of Group Cash Position
- Ensuring all McLaren foreign exchange settlements are made on time including agreement of daily netting figures with external banking providers
- Become a super user of SAP with specific responsibility for the treasury functions including accurate input of trades into SAP. Review SAP functionality and develop wider use of SAP for booking of treasury transactions
- Systems Administrator for HSBCnet banking system for McLaren Group and McLaren Automotive – work with Financial Controllers and Group Treasurer to support changes in set up for all users
- Treasury support for external borrowing facilities including the Revolving Credit Facility, Marketing Fleet Facility and Receivables Financing Facilities, as well as Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees
- Management and tracking of bank facility commitment fees
- Bank account management – Updating bank mandates, assisting with KYC requirement and bank account administration
- Management and analysis of bank charges, focusing on cost efficiency
- Management of FX rates files and input of monthly rates into SAP
- Provide cover and support Group Treasurer with longer term foreign exchange hedging activity in line with agreed treasury policy
- Preparation of reports required by banks for review by Treasurer and CFO
- Support for the Treasury Analyst
- Support for the Finance Assistant – Cashbook, and wider support for management of cashbook transactions.
- Support Group Treasurer in maintaining strong external banking relationships
The candidate will have existing treasury knowledge and will continue to develop themselves further through a variety of learning programmes both within McLaren and externally through 3rd party providers in order to learn all areas of treasury management.
Previous experience in the Automotive or Manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Part qualified or minimum studying towards a professional accounting or treasury qualification such as Association Corporate Treasurers (AMCT) / Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Hands on approach with ambition to grow with the treasury function in alignment with business growth.
- Highly analytical with strong organisational capability
- Ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of people.
- Strong systems knowledge specifically SAP
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
