Purpose of Role

Carry out containment activities generated via the hotline for series production. Processing of Non-Conforming Materials. Hotline/linesweep response. Co-ordination of containment via 3rd party and SQA. Non-conforming parts collection sweeps. Dispostion of NCP and RTV processing. Feedback to supplier Grading of initial supplier 8D responses. Supplier quality performance reporting (occurrence, Severity, Response)

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reading drawings and 3d models
  • 1st line containment through line sweeps, stock sorts and re-work activities
  • Liaisons with the Parts Quality Engineers and Manager
  • OSR reporting and supplier performance data gathering including time taken on inspection activities
  • Tracking 8D response from supplier and recording in the OSR tracker
  • Hotline response within the required time frame (Target <24 hours)
  • Level 0 escalation to team leader
  • Collection of Non-conforming materials and reviewing “good parts” rack
  • Processing of non-conforming materials within the required time frame
  • Reporting inspection results to management via Hotline App / Inspection Tracker
  • Updating inspection reports
  • Recall of materials for inspection by Parts Quality Inspector / 3rd party inspection company.
  • 5s and general housekeeping
  • Creating inspection plans/templates using McLaren standards and specifications

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required

  • Significant experience in inspection
  • Problem solving skills (e.g. PPS)
  • Capable using the MSOffice suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven track record of delivering targets (S,Q,D,C)
  • Good presentation skills
  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a wider team
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3d models

Advantageous

  • Experience of APQP, PPAP
  • Experience of lean manufacturing & problem solving tools
  • Experience of using SAP & associated tools
  • Experience within a Quality role at OEM or Tier One level
  • An engineering background
