What to Expect
The role of the Team Leader is to co-ordinate the day to day activities of a multi-functional team, reporting into the Production Group Leader. The role is also responsible for the control of holiday and absence management, Health & Safety, cost & quality control as well as productivity improvement, via your responsible Technicians / Team Members. 
What You'll Do
  • Deliver all aspects of MCTC manufacturing processes in line with targets, KPI’s, gateways & objectives set by Production Manager 
  • Support Group Leader with performance management for Production team 
  • Support containment for QCRs (Quality Concern Reports) within 24 hours 
  • Support continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve quality and productivity in series production 
  • To apply analytical skills and judgement to generate solutions for manufacturing challenges 
  • Build effective cross functional relationships and contribute to achieving a high-performance team environment 
  • To ensure team members follow procedures, specifications, and SOPs produced by MCTC engineering and team members comply with the company’s quality standards 
  • Responsible for their own and others health and Safety, and should report any unsafe condition as soon as possible so that preventative or corrective action can be taken 
  • To ensure EH&S risk assessments produced comply with the company’s Health & Safety standards and are maintained ready for audits. 
  • Experienced user of problem-solving methodologies (e.g. PPS or 8D) 
  • Support activities to close QCRs promptly and in line with McLaren PPS (Practical Problem Solving) 
  • Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements and related standards with demonstrated understanding of the practical application of these requirements 
  • Supporting delivery of products to meet budgets & expenditure, timing & delivery 
  • Experience in change management systems 
  • Support delivery for Process Specification and associated manufacturing instructions including training documentation for the areas you are responsible for and in line with McLaren standards 
  • Support the development of associated capabilities (People, Tooling, Machinery, Materials, Process development, quality, cost, productivity, supply chain) 
  • Coordinate the work and delivery of development for team members 
  • Support special manufacturing processes when required 
  • Support other duties / ad-hoc Production tasks when required  
What You'll Bring
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  

No formal qualifications are necessary, however a foundation in Manufacturing would be beneficial. 
Understanding and experience in a quality/manufacturing/process driven environment ideal. 
Be able to demonstrate broad job knowledge of automotive processes and specific skills for the area in question. 
Quality focused. 
Good level of knowledge for Microsoft Office packages. 
Knowledge or understanding of 8D / Problem solving techniques.
