What to Expect

To lead a vehicle project test and development programme for McLaren Automotive at Idiada. Role Dimensions: Responsibility for a Development test programme, including budget, test facilities and vehicle requirements. Regular travel and out of hours activity required in support of development attributes sign-off.

 

 

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for the successful, on-time delivery of the Idiada based DVP items for a project ensuring gateway deliverables are met.
  • Responsible to ensure QNs are raised and effective countermeasure implemented and validated.
  • Work closely with the Principal Testing Engineer to ensure project resource requirements are communicated and allocated in the plan. Liaise closely with MTC based principal engineers to ensure test plans align with the required resources and facilities available.
  • Supervise development engineers to ensure successful project development deliverables
  • Frequent reviews and feedback with Principal Testing Engineer to ensure clarity of the detail of the plan vs risks to the project.
  • Identify and take advantage of any test cost savings that can be realised, ensuring testing is carried out in an efficient, right first time approach.
  • Ensure project VTRs are agreed, planned and completed in a timely fashion to meet the DVP requirements.
  • Demonstrate good engineering judgement decisions as issues arise and escalate them in a timely fashion as and when required.
  • Ensure the McLaren Development Process MDP is consistently and effectively followed.
  • Support and ensure successful launch of new customer products into the field.

 

 

What You'll Bring
  • Engineering degree or equivalent, and a demonstrable understanding of engineering theory
  • Detailed experience of development testing, ideally gained on low volume, high performance vehicle programs
  • Substantial knowledge and experience of a broad range of vehicle and rig data acquisition, test and analysis techniques
  • Excellent PC skills and at ease with MS Office products
