Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for product management and product marketing for multiple product nameplates with the McLaren Automotive product range.

Principal Accountabilities

The Senior Product Manager will with the support of Product Specialist deliver four distinct disciplines of Product Management for each product line, Product Definition, Product Marketing, Product Development and Product Management.

  • Working with sales planning to refine sales volumes, market mix and price positioning.
  • Working with the Product Planning function to deliver the board approved product plan
  • Definition of target customer profile, utilising segmentation data, regional intelligence and source of sales analysis
  • Presentation of forthcoming products to internal teams, including regional sales and marketing teams
  • The Product Manager will drive the commercial performance of the products once in production, instilling processes, and behaviours within the team to monitor sales and options performance and identify any optimisation actions. 
  • Product Management will also define and run the appropriate review mechanism with senior Commercial and Marketing personnel (Director – Product Strategy, CMO, CED, Head of Commercial Operations, Head of PR) 
  • Working with colleagues from Global Marketing and PR you will contribute to positioning documents and the design of dealer training programmes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in Automotive Sales and Marketing including specific experience (5+ years) in product management and marketing. 
  • Experienced people manager both of direct teams and indirect stakeholders
  • Experience of and direct involvement in product development programmes is highly desirable
  • An in-depth understanding and experience of product pricing, value indexing and options analysis
  • Must be able to define and execute business processes, and understand the importance of formal process to reduce risk and variance
  • Expertise in presentation skills to both internal and external audiences
  • Experience in representing company values through interactions with HNW customers and automotive media
