Reporting to the Head of Purchasing Low Volume & Operations, this is an exciting and unique opportunity to join McLaren Automotive’s Procurement team. This is a rare opening to join an exclusive automotive environment which is undergoing a transformation and rapid growth in response to its critically acclaimed global products and best-in-class performance.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business with an understanding of industry practices (e.g., Six Sigma and PPS).
- Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive quality principles and commercial acumen reflected in Procurement’s standard operating procedures.
- Develop detailed and intelligent processes that align with the organisation’s commercial and technology roadmaps as well as those of our key development partners.
- Ability to understand complex and abstract concepts (legal, technical and/or commercial) and being able to present the information in an informative and simplified manner; such that key decisions can be made quickly and objectively.
- Support development of tools and KPI’s to monitor and communicate Procurement’s and Supplier performance and relevant reporting.
- Provide insights and guidance in complex cross-functional projects.
- Establish relationships and long-term development plans with internal and external customers based upon common goals and objectives.
- Ensure internal and external customers (including suppliers) requirements and concerns regarding processes and performance are fully understood and ensure these are fed back during the appropriate stages to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and improve Procurement processes and documentation accordingly.
- Engage with the Procurement community and other stakeholders to identify processes and systems improvements.
- Provide training and training materials for new / developing team members.
- Act as a super user for all Procurement systems in IT projects.
- Support Procurements systems end user community.
- Monitor Procurement’s performance and compliance through meaningful KPI’s.
- Ensure compliance to agreed processes through awareness and training.
- Accountable for internal and external compliance audits.
- Promote best practice procurement techniques.
- Proven supply chain management and procurement experience, dealing with both small and large value organisations.
- Proven experience of process mapping and process improvement using Six Sigma & Lean methodologies or similar. Project management qualifications are an advantage.
- Excellent procurement systems knowledge, preferably as a Super User or with previous participation in systems blueprint and implementation. SAP knowledge is a must, Wax Digital an advantage.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Visio.
- Ability to extract and use accurate data to build meaningful KPI and monitor performance
- Ability to convert complex processes into easy-to-understand steps.

- Experience in developing training documentation and programmes.
