Purpose of Role

To co-ordinate and lead shift maintenance and repair of critical production equipment within the MTC and MPC, in order to minimize downtime and maximize operating effectiveness and efficiency.   

 

 


Principal Accountabilities
  • Act as first line point of co-ordination for shift breakdown and maintenance support during hours of own shift.
  • Plan, prioritise and assign workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time and allocate appropriate shift resource accordingly.
  • Co-ordinate shift handover with preceding & following shift, and ensure that any work handed over is prioritised/allocated effectively.
  • Carry out repair, improvement and planned maintenance work on Production Equipment.
  • Attend weekly Engineering meeting with the Engineering Manager and MAL representative, to discuss planned and current work and any issues
  • Ensure that any spares/consumables used are re ordered and stock levels are maintained to minimise downtime.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure the best quality and best price is obtained for all spares and consumables
  • Ensure PPM’s are up to date and amend and create PPM’s where required.     
  • Effective supervision of the Subcontractor activities as required.
  • Mentoring of apprentices/new starters.
  • Assist with the identification of any future training needs
  • Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment, and systems.
  • Compliance with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy requirements within area of responsibility.
  • Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks Concept
  • Assist with planning and implementation of Annual shutdown works
  • Ensure housekeeping of all work shops and store areas are maintained to the required standard
  • Assist the Management Team during any future recruitment
  • Stand in for Engineering Maintenance Manger during holidays as and when required 

 

 

 


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Electrical/Mechanical recognised engineering skills – will be subject to practical test i.e. BTEC / HND / Apprenticeship
  • Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC, and electromechanically controlled production equipment.
  • Robust experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Good working knowledge / programming experience of Siemens S7, Canbus, VSDs and predictive maintenance techniques an advantage.
  • Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
