What to Expect
We are seeking a high caliber Senior Manager – Commercial & Corporate Finance to play a critical leadership role within McLaren Automotive’s Commercial & Corporate Functions Finance team.
The role has accountability for end to end financial performance management and planning across Commercial functions, with an expanded regional remit covering EMEIA. Acting as a trusted business partner to senior Commercial, Regional and Executive leadership, the role provides robust financial insight, forward looking analysis and disciplined commercial challenge to support the delivery of strategic objectives and Commercial KPIs.
The role leads a multidisciplinary finance team spanning Commercial Consolidation, Aftersales, Commercial Operations and EMEIA regional finance, and plays a key role in driving consistency, insight quality and standardised reporting across the Commercial Finance landscape. 
What You'll Do

Commercial Performance & Financial Leadership 

  • Lead financial performance management and planning across Commercial functions, ensuring rigorous oversight of Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts and Strategic Plans. 
  • Coordinate consolidated Commercial performance analysis, including Actuals vs comparator, outlook updates and ad-hoc analysis in support of Commercial KPIs. 
  • Provide clear, concise and executive ready financial insight to senior stakeholders, enabling informed decision making. 
  • Drive consistency, accuracy and transparency across Commercial financial reporting and performance evaluation. 
Aftersales & Commercial Operations Finance Oversight 
  • Act as the senior finance partner for Aftersales and Commercial Operations, supporting functional leadership with financial insight, challenge and governance. 
  • Ensure robust cost control, investment evaluation and financial governance across Aftersales and Commercial Operations activities. 
  • Support major initiatives, transformation activity and business cases through disciplined financial analysis and modelling. 

EMEIA Regional Finance Leadership 

  • Own Finance support for the EMEIA region, acting as the primary senior finance contact for all regional financial matters. 
  • Lead resource allocation, budget ownership, forecasting, reporting and performance evaluation across the region. 
  • Support regional leadership with scenario planning, forward looking insight and risk/opportunity analysis, ensuring alignment with global Commercial objectives. 

Insight, Commentary & Reporting Excellence 

  • Establish and maintain standardised reporting frameworks across all Commercial subfunctions. 
  • Set clear expectations for high quality financial commentary from Commercial Finance leads, focused on drivers, risks, opportunities and actions. 
  • Derive insight from historical performance and trend analysis, articulating underlying drivers and lessons learned. 
  • Lead forward looking analysis to identify emerging risks and opportunities, supporting strategic decision making by Senior Leadership and Executive forums. 

People Management & Leadership 

Line manage and develop:  
  • EMEIA Finance Manager 
  • EMEIA Finance Analyst 
  • Senior Finance Analyst – Commercial & Aftersales 
  • Commercial Consolidation Finance Analyst 
  • Build a high performance culture focused on accountability, strong business partnering and continuous improvement. 
  • Coach and develop talent, ensuring strong capability and succession within the Commercial Finance team. 

Governance, Planning & Process Improvement 

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial governance frameworks, policies and approval processes. 
  • Drive best practice planning, forecasting discipline and performance management standards. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve process efficiency, insight quality and automation, including effective use of data and BI tools. 


What You'll Bring

Essential 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. 
  • Significant experience operating at Senior Manager level within Commercial Finance, FP&A or Business Partnering roles. 
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, decision focused insight. 
  • Demonstrable leadership of budgeting, forecasting, performance management and strategic planning processes. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high performing finance teams across multiple functions and/or geographies. 
  • High credibility and confidence interfacing with senior leadership, including Executive Committee and C-suite. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial modelling, scenario analysis and large datasets. 
  • Strong Power BI capability, including data modelling, dashboards and insight led performance reporting. 
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, producing clear, concise and executive ready materials. 

Desirable 

  • Prior Big 4 or equivalent professional services experience. 
  • Automotive, manufacturing or complex commercial environment exposure. 
  • Experience supporting EMEIA or international operations. 
  • Exposure to Aftersales, Commercial Operations or B2C/B2B commercial business models.
