Purpose of Role

To support the Senior Finance Business Partner in the preparation of monthly reporting, forecasts, budgets, and business plans for McLaren Services Limited. Responsible for the provision of financial and operational support, enabling the Senior Finance Business Partner Manager to report to the Senior Management Team. The role will Involve being the initial point of contact for the operational teams within McLaren IT Services.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Evaluate and drive the financial targets and performance and challenge any variances.
  • Produce Business plan, Quarterly and Monthly forecast with analyses of actuals against targets, budgets & key performance indicators. Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner to advise on corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are adhered to.
  • Identify and report on internal and external risks and opportunities which could impact on financial performance.
  • Work with and provide guidance to senior management and other colleagues across the business, maintaining healthy working relationships yet providing the appropriate expertise and challenge to achieve the financial objectives of the business.
  • Proactively work with departmental heads to put in place improved and timely management information to allow better decisions to be taken which will drive growth of profits and delivery of cash.
  • Prepare the monthly results and variance analysis against forecast and budget and present these to the Senior Finance Business Partner for the financial review meetings.
  • Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, both P&L and balance sheet, and attend review meetings with the CIO, departmental heads, and the Senior Finance Business Partner.
  • Provide quality value added support to senior management and colleagues, as directed.
  • Work towards managing the financial aspects of capital and overhead projects undertaken by McLaren IT for other McLaren companies ensuring the correct charges are levied on the relevant areas of the business in a timely manner.
  • Control and circulation of monthly, forecasted and budgeted management charges to the Business units supporting where necessary
  • Monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts within McLaren Services

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Desirable CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or part-qualified with a commercial outlook
  • A resilient and confident individual with strong commercial and influencing skills
  • Presentable and personable – the candidate must be immediately credible with stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
