Purpose of Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineer, Warranty to join our Warranty team within the central Quality department based in Woking, Surrey. This Senior role (with 5 direct reports) will lead the Warranty claims engineers and Warranty data analysts to drive best in class support to both the Global McLaren Automotive Retailer Network, wider Warranty team and Internal stakeholder groups.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead the collation, analysis, reporting of Warranty data to drive the team and wider business stakeholders with identifying key trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement
  • Lead the team of Warranty claims engineers, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of the data within the McLaren Retailer Portal
  • Report management of internal and external quality KPI’s/metrics for all McLaren vehicles
  • Lead the support of the Warranty and Customer Quality team with any reporting / data queries
  • Lead Warranty financial planning, analysis and reporting for future product development
  • Be the key point of contact for Warranty data within McLaren Automotive, driving Warranty activities to positively influence customer metrics
  • Lead continuous improvement opportunities of the existing data analysis tools and reports
  • Monitor and regularly audit McLaren Warranty data quality. Collate and deliver feedback to stakeholders as necessary (Retailer network, Regional Managers, Internal teams)
  • Deliver new insight & analysis that can be used to support operation or mitigate risk
  • Lead monthly finance meetings and provide recommendations to the business to drive efficiency opportunities where available
  • Represent the Warranty team with McLaren IT for the continuous improvement of the warranty system and create operating processes and rules
  • Support the Warranty manager with Retailer requests, customer satisfaction and goodwill activities
  • Support the Warranty manager with the maintenance of the Retailer (Warranty) Operation Standards, ensuring the Retailer guidelines are aligned with McLaren Automotive processes and standards
  • Support the Warranty Manager with any potential Campaign / Recall (FCR process) topics to ensure they are tracked and progressed according to McLaren Automotive established processes
  • Always maintain and adhere to GDPR responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Educated to degree level (or minimum HNC/HND) preferably with an Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics bias
  • Good knowledge of modern vehicle technologies and repair methods
  • Good knowledge of Automotive Warranty at Retailer, Regional office or OEM level essential (other related industries considered)
  • SAP / Business Objects
  • Business Intelligence Software – Microsoft Power BI
  • Advanced Excel skills to interrogate and manage large volumes of complex data
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite
