Purpose of Role

The Senior Engineer – Controls Software will develop innovative control systems in Hybrid Powertrain, Transmission, Chassis, Cooling or Body control systems.  Working in Simulink, they will lead delivery of functionality from concept to production.  Controls are hosted on an ethernet based zonal domain controller electrical architecture & the scope includes functional safety & security requirements as well as core functionality, offering a great opportunity for personal and technical development.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Define, design and deliver control functions including requirements,  interfaces and algorithms
  • Implement control functions in Matlab Simulink/Stateflow
  • C-code generation and analysis
  • Conduct SW components testing using MIL and SIL techniques
  • Testing SW components within the system on the HIL
  • SW components verification & validation against requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver SW components
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Model-based, auto-coded software prototyping and production implementation
  • Support vehicle software testing and calibration
  • Excellent Control theory background
  • Excellent knowledge of Automotive Software across chassis system, hybrid supervisor, body systems, power management, transmission controls or HVAC applications
  • Good knowledge of the above system(s) at System Architecture Level
  • Software requirements capture and detailed software design into specifications
  • Model-based control software development and verification
  • AUTOSAR software components generation and integration
  • Verification testing in MIL, SIL and HIL environments, and in-vehicle integration
  • Compliance to industry standards such as ISO26262 and ASPICE
  • Demonstrative experience in the automotive sector
  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree 2:1 or above
