Purpose of Role
You'll support the Design Team to “create breath-taking products that tell the visual story of their function”.

You will also lead Exterior or Interior CAS team on a single project in line with MAL MDP processes and deliver surface releases in accordance to gateway deliverables.
Principal Accountabilities

Technical biased role with some people management responsibilities ensuring quality and execution delivery of program deliverables.

  • Manage Exterior or Interior sub teams to manage the creation and release of production-feasible, aesthetically-optimised surfaces that maintain design intent and are to a high quality of surface execution. Ensure Surfaces meet engineering hardpoints, are to specified McLaren standards and attributes and released in time to support component production schedules.
  • Support SERIES CAS Manager to ensure Quality execution and gateway timings are met.
  • Support SERIES CAS Manager in the Virtual in digital development within the CAS organisation.
  • Produce surfaces as and when required to MAL guidelines, standards and release procedures
  • Ensure the team produce Surfaces according to McLaren digital surfacing guidelines, standards and release procedures.
  • Escalate to SERIES CAS Manager if Surface reference folders contains ambiguous, out of date or incomplete data.
  • Report into Line Manager weekly updates to ensure clear delivery status and agreed targets are maintained.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Resolve any conflicts of inputs if escalated by CAS team.
  • Set up and chair regular CAS meetings with studio Engineering to align priorities and highlight input requirements
  • Set up and maintain surface release tracker to reflect Agile status
  • Receive detailed surface status from CAS team
  • Support the allocation of the CAS surfacing tasks
  • Reconcile Inputs where possible without the need to escalate
  • Escalate irreconcilable inputs to SERIES CAS MANAGER
  • Provide any reference CAS information (e.g. points) to assist Physical / Digital development
  • Initiate and run screen reviews for contentious, complex or ongoing surface issues
  • Support weekly Delivery meetings to associated project
  • Support and key stakeholder in the surface Quality and execution meetings
  • Coordinate cross functional working across series senior CAS roles
  • Coordinate approval of final surface for aesthetics and maintenance of design intent
  • Complete surface validation checks prior to release to Studio Engineer and approve release to ensure right first-time targets are met.
  • Track SharePoint document releases to declare that the final surface is ready for release
