What to Expect
Reporting to the SQA Senior Engineer and SQA Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and production readiness of supplied components for McLaren road cars.
From supporting new vehicle programmes through to series production, you'll work closely with suppliers to drive quality excellence, resolve manufacturing challenges, and ensure components consistently meet McLaren's exceptional standards.
What You'll Do
  • Own supplier quality and capacity for a designated vehicle area.
  • Drive suppliers to achieve and exceed McLaren quality standards.
  • Lead quality concern resolution through robust 8D problem-solving.
  • Conduct New Product Introduction (NPI) and process verification audits.
  • Develop and improve supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Support production readiness and successful volume ramp-up.
  • Deliver effective APQP activities across the supply base.
  • Manage timely PPAP approval of parts and production processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for products and processes.
  • Monitor and deliver key quality and performance KPIs.
  • Provide project updates and management reporting.
  • Track supplier progress against IATF 16949 compliance plans.
  • Maintain personal development and technical training plans.
What You'll Bring
  • Automotive quality professional with OEM or Tier 1 experience across new vehicle programmes and series production.
  • Confident in delivering PPAP approval activities and ensuring robust production readiness.
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP and IATF 16949 quality requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, track progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Skilled at developing strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.
  • Experienced in applying structured problem-solving tools such as 8D and 5 Why.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5 and GD&T principles.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related automotive discipline.
