What to Expect

The SAP Platform Manager owns governance and service assurance for the SAP landscape and enterprise integration capability, spanning ECC transition, S/4HANA under SAP RISE, SAP cloud products, BTP, analytics and integration services. The role manages the enterprise integration team and ensures SAP, SI partners and internal teams deliver secure, stable, compliant and business-aligned services while protecting clean core, technical standards and future SAP adoption.

What You'll Do

1) Platform Ownership

  • Manage the enterprise integration team, aligning integration demand, delivery, support, standards and governance to SAP priorities and enterprise architecture
  • Assure availability, performance, resilience and security through governance of SAP-managed, SaaS and partner-delivered services
  • Govern SAP’s contracted RISE services for S/4HANA, with appropriate operational governance for ECC, BTP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, Business Data Cloud and SAC
  • Manage ECC transition and continuous improvement across service quality, resilience, cost transparency and business impact

2) Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain security and compliance oversight with Cyber Security, Architecture, SAP and SI partners, including privileged access, SoD, audit evidence, vulnerabilities and security notes
  • Ensure licence, subscription and service scope awareness to support cost control, consumption governance and commercial transparency
  • Maintain SAP landscape, integration, support and architecture documentation; participate in governance forums to keep decisions secure, compliant, supportable and clean core aligned

3) Architecture

  • Define and enforce platform, development, integration and technical standards aligned to Enterprise Architecture and SAP best practice
  • Govern integration patterns, APIs, events, middleware, data flows, BTP extensibility and custom development to ensure security, scalability, supportability and clean core alignment
  • Balance service continuity, technical improvement and delivery priorities while maintaining fit-to-standard and long-term upgradeability

4) Partner Management

  • Coordinate SAP, partner and internal teams to ensure clear ownership, prioritisation, service request quality, change impact assessment and escalation management
  • Review service performance, capacity, incidents, problems, root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions, holding partners to account for outcomes

5) Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

  • Translate technical constraints, risks and service impacts into clear business language for decisions and prioritisation
  • Advise programmes on platform readiness, integration impact, supportability, security implications and service transition
  • Support roadmap, investment and partner governance decisions by communicating options, trade-offs, risks and outcomes

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Strong SAP Basis, HANA, transport, patching, upgrade, refresh, backup/recovery and DR understanding, with ability to govern SAP-managed delivery rather than execute tasks directly
  • Track record managing SAP AMS providers, SAP-managed services, hyperscalers, SAP consultants and onshore/offshore teams
  • Experience governing SAP BTP foundations, including subaccounts, entitlements, destinations, Cloud Connector, identity, security, integration patterns, cost and consumption
  • Experience as a leader, development and mentoring teams, including demand, delivery, support, performance, standards and partner coordination
  • Excellent stakeholder management, service governance, communication and leadership skills, with ability to align business, IT, SAP and partners

Desirable

  • Familiarity with integrated solutions and cloud integration patterns
  • Knowledge of SAP DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and transport governance
