What to Expect

The successful candidate will be working as part of a high performing and agile team, with direct report into the Purchasing Manager.  Cross functional engagement with our Engineering, Quality, Production, Cost Reduction and Legal Teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.

What You'll Do
• Assist in sourcing and procuring materials, components, and services required for motorsport and bespoke automotive projects.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements and priorities.
• Generate purchase orders and ensure timely placement with approved suppliers.
• Monitor order status and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Maintain comprehensive procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities including budgets and key performance indicators.
• Assist in analysing data to identify trends, opportunities for process improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
• New supplier identification and loading to appropriate systems in McLaren.
• Support Buyers within the team with cost reduction activity.
• Support Buyers with supplier strategy and nomination including cross functional sign off.

What You'll Bring


  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management role. 
  • Negotiation skills and ability to build productive relationships with suppliers. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with SAP
  • Previous manufacturing / automotive experience preferred but not essential. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
