Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Principal Engineer - Driveability, you will be working on driveability calibration for a specific McLaren vehicle.

Principal Accountabilities

  • The role involves working with a Senior Engineer to develop the powertrain driveability calibration (engine / transmission / hybrid) for a specific McLaren application.
  • Review control functions in MATLAB Simulink/Stateflow & propose strategy improvements, and update the system documentations
  • Support other department areas within the Electronic and Control department. Like: software validation team, Emission and OBD departments.
  • Support the Powertrain and Vehicle development department.
  • Attend over-seas test trips to support development activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Degree level education in a relevant Engineering discipline – electronic, mechanical, automotive, motorsport etc.
  • A passion for automotive control design and development.
  • Education in model-based design & powertrain technologies desirable.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Great attention to detail and an attitude to produce ‘right first time’ quality work.
  • PC literate and at ease with MS Office products.
