Purpose of Role

This role, reporting to the Certification Manager, is responsible for monitoring regulatory changes affecting McLaren’s current and future vehicle models. The role will aggregate research from a variety of sources, compile this information, and communicate it to the wider business on a regular basis. The role will map out the regulatory roadmap affecting the entire lifecycle of McLaren’s vehicle projects, monitoring key legislative changes, and representing McLaren Automotive at the relevant industry technical working groups. The role will also assess the impact of changes to the product plan against that regulatory roadmap, as well as monitoring compliance of the product plan against fleet average requirements in various markets.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Monitor and study emerging regulatory requirements affecting McLaren’s vehicles
  • Assess the impact of these changes on the existing product plan
  • Assess the impact of changes to the product plan against future requirements
  • Prepare updates & presentations, and communication of this information to the business in a clear and effective manner, to enable informed decision-making, and support the Certification team with ensuring compliance
  • Participate in industry forums where future requirements are discussed
  • Evaluate current and future performance against fleet average requirements, and update these forecasts when the product plan changes
  • Ensure alignment between Product Development and the relevant government agencies on current and future regulatory requirements
  • Maintain close working relationships with Certification, PMO, Engineering Managers and Programme Directors to support programme goals
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with automotive regulations or a similar compliance role
  • Excellent data analysis and presentation skills required
