What to Expect
The Finance Manager (US) will play a pivotal role in supporting McLaren Automotive’s commercial and corporate finance agenda across the United States. Operating as the regional financial steward, the role combines financial leadership, business partnering, and operational oversight to maximise financial performance and ensure compliance with global and regional standards.
Working closely with the Director of Commercial & Corporate Functions Finance in the UK and the VP of Commercial Operations in the US, the Finance Manager will deliver accurate financial reporting, drive insightful analysis, and partner crossfunctional teams to enhance decisionmaking and business outcomes.

Role Dimensions;
Based in the US, this role is responsible for US market financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, commercial performance management, and financial governance. The Finance Manager will also supervise a team of three, ensuring high-quality delivery across all financial processes.
The role requires strong crossfunctional collaboration with Commercial Operations, Legal, HR, and Central Finance teams in the UK. As part of the broader regional finance leadership framework, the Finance Manager must be comfortable navigating a matrix environment and engaging with senior stakeholders across different geographies. 
What You'll Do

Financial Strategy & Business Partnering

  • Support the development and execution of a US specific financial strategy aligned to the wider global Business Plan.
  • Partner with the VP of Commercial Operations (USA) to interpret financial insights and drive commercial performance improvements.
  • Provide financial leadership for key strategic initiatives, business cases, and commercial model assessments.


Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles for the US region, ensuring the accuracy of all submissions.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support business planning and decision making.
  • Consolidate financial performance insights and present to senior stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities, and required actions.


Operational Finance & Governance

  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements in the US.
  • Oversee local taxation, accounting, and audit processes, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Manage local purchasing and financial governance frameworks in line with global policies.


Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop three direct reports, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team culture.
  • Promote continuous improvement across financial processes and workflows.
  • Provide guidance to nonfinancial stakeholders to strengthen financial understanding across the business.


External Relationship Management

  • Represent McLaren Automotive to key external stakeholders including auditors, banks, regulatory bodies, and strategic partners.
  • Support commercial contract reviews and vendor negotiations where financial oversight is required.


What You'll Bring
  • Professional accounting qualification; CPA strongly preferred, Big 4 background highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, business partnering, and operational finance.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organisations, preferably across regions.
  • Automotive, manufacturing, or similar industry exposure is an advantage.
  • Outstanding Microsoft Office capability (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI).
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (including the UK).
