Purpose of Role

As a Quality Engineer your role is to improve quality at the Inspection audit stations by carrying out Root Cause Analysis, ensuring that robust containments are introduced in a timely manner and working with other function groups within the business to identify long term countermeasures.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Clear definition of concerns highlighted during audit inspection
  • Problem breakdown of concern using data analysis
  • Timely introduction of robust containments
  • Root Cause Analysis of concern using McLaren’s problem-solving methodology
  • Application of quality tools to establish direct cause of concern
  • Cross functional working with other business areas to identify long term countermeasures along with “Lessons Learned” for future models
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive manufacturing or similar industry
  • BIW (Body in White) experience preferable.
  • Engineering Degree background, preferably mechanical or manufacturing
  • Previous experience conducting root cause analysis. (Six Sigma, 8D etc)
  • CATIA and GD&T experience
  • Capable of conducting Statistical Analysis (SPC)
  • Working knowledge of FMEA and Design for Manufacture
  • Project management of cross functional working groups
  • Proven experience of working in a dedicated team environment as well as the ability to work as an individual
