Description & Requirements

Background

No restraints. No limitations. We don’t simply push boundaries. We completely rethink them. McLaren Automotive exists to create breath-taking performance road cars.

With innovation at the core of all we do, every challenge starts with the same question. How can we do it better? This restless spirit runs right through McLaren Automotive. And the search for perfection is evident in everything we do.

Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, we’re looking for a Production Planner to join the Supply Chain team at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC) in Sheffield.

This role is responsible for the creation and execution of the MCTC Production Plan to fulfil customer demand (on-time and in-full) from the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who has some planning and material control experience, and wants to join an innovative team.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Create and execute the Weekly, Monthly and Annual Production Plan to fulfil customer demand whilst minimising finished good inventory.
  • Creation, dispatch and release of Production Orders in SAP and Apriso MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Interpret and interrogate customer demand, conveying the shipment profile to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Handle all enquiries related to the Production Plan (MCTC & MPC) and associated Production Orders.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and SAP Routing.
  • Support the productionisation of all new value-add initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Material Controller as required, to ensure business continuity in their absence.
  • Act as the primary contact for any assigned material categories, ensuring goods are delivered in accordance with the Component Schedule, to fulfil customer demand.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of the principles of production planning and supplier management.
  • SAP knowledge/experience is essential.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met.
  • Structured and methodical approach to the management of work with excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding Excel and data manipulation skills; experience of using Microsoft Power Bi would also be advantageous.
  • Proven ability of working to tight deadlines, managing workload and prioritising tasks.
  • A team player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
Personal Attributes
  • An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, who responds constructively to new ideas and input in a changing business environment.
  • Strong communicator with the capability to challenge, engage and influence all stakeholders within a dynamic and cross functional environment.
  • Proactive and tenacious nature, taking initiative and using failure as an opportunity to learn.
  • Driven by accuracy with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated to deliver excellence and perform beyond targets to exceed customer expectations
