What to Expect

Reporting to the Supply Chain Managerwere looking for a Production Planner to join the Supply Chain team at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC) in Sheffield. 

 

This role is responsible for the creation and execution of the MCTC Production Plans to fulfil customer demand (on-time and in-full) from the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking. Furthermore, material categories will be assigned to give this role greater depth and offer development opportunities to the successful candidate. 

What You'll Do
  • Create and execute the Weekly, Monthly and Annual Production Plan to fulfil customer demand whilst minimising finished good inventory. 
  • Creationdispatch and release of Production Orders in SAP and Apriso MES (Manufacturing Execution System). 
  • Interpret and interrogate customer demand, conveying the shipment profile to all relevant stakeholders. 
  • Handle enquiries related to the Production Plan (MCTC & MPC) and associated Production Orders. 
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and SAP Routing. 
  • Support the productionisation of all new value-add initiatives. 
  • Deputise for the Senior Controller as required, to ensure business continuity in their absence. 
  • Material Control - Act as the primary contact for any assigned material categories, ensuring goods are delivered in accordance with the Component Schedule, to fulfil customer demand. 
  • Support any Ad-Hoc tasks within MCTC Supply Chain team where required 

What You'll Bring
  • Understanding of the principles of production planning and supplier management. 
  • SAP knowledge/experience is essential. 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met. 
  • Structured and methodical approach to the management of work with excellent organizational skills. 
  • Outstanding Excel and data manipulation skillsexperience of using Microsoft Power Bi would also be advantageous. 
  • Be point of contact for assigned suppliers & manage relationships as required  
  • Proven ability of working to tight deadlines, managing workload and prioritising tasks. 
  • A team player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
