This is pivotal role that encompasses the independence and objectivity necessary to drive and facilitate effective product change management and adequate stakeholder engagement to ensure no disruption to production. Also encompasses the accountability for strategic and operational planning, governing of change management systems and processes enabling permanent/temporary product and/or process changes to happen efficiently in development and series production.
The successful candidate will manage a team of engineers and coordinators therefore encompasses a level of mentoring, training, and developing to ensure adequately skilled change management team.
- Lead the team of Senior/Change Control Engineers/Change Control Coordinators/Administrators
- Conduct daily reviews with the Product Change Management team members to ensure progress is on-track on a short-term basis with project and series changes. Support issues raised and cover absences.
- Responsible for the delivery of continuous improvements to the PCM processes as part of the PCM departments process owner role.
- Oversee the Implementation of engineering change to the product in line with the PCM processes to ensure accurate and appropriate change to McLaren Automotive products
- Liaise closely with all departments across the business involved in the product change management process to progress changes for the vehicle project and block changes
- Facilitate the product change management meetings to drive completion of actions from change stakeholders
- Generate progress status reports and communicate to the business effectively including preparation of daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s and investigate all deviations from agreed standards
- Oversee the coordination of the change control process for vehicle projects in development to ensure successful vehicle launches
- Oversee the coordination of activities required to deliver the McLaren Automotive Block change process to allow for controlled implementation of change to vehicles in series development
- Extensive experience of automotive vehicle development and production processes
- Knowledge of product development life-cycles including prototype build phases is beneficial
- Knowledge of vehicle development and production processes is beneficial
- Understanding of vehicle manufacturing and supply planning processes is beneficial
- Experience of using SAP advantageous
- Knowledge of automotive parts and McLaren products advantageous
- Knowledge of Product Change Management/ Change Control systems and processes is essential
- Experience in stakeholder management is essential
- Process ownership experience including continuous improvement project work is essential
- Experience in Product Data and Bill of Material Management is beneficial
- Degree of technical/analytical nature or extensive specific change control experience is required
