We are recruiting for a Graduate to join our People & Culture team at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. As a People & Culture Graduate, you will gain hands-on experience across key areas of Human Resources, supporting initiatives that enhance our employee experience and help shape the future of McLaren’s dynamic, high-performance workplace.
This is a two-year rotational programme (4 x 6-month placements) designed to accelerate your development and understanding of McLaren’s people strategy, employee lifecycle, and organisational culture, equipping you to contribute meaningfully to our future workforce and operations.
Please note this is an onsite position.
You will work within core areas of HR, including Operations, HR Generalist, Payroll & Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition & Early Careers, and Employee Experience & Culture.
Your responsibilities may include:
HR Operations & Administration:
- Gain exposure to HR systems and data management processes
- Assist with documentation, policy updates, and compliance tracking
- Support HR Business Partners with day-to-day casework and reporting
People & Culture Generalist Team:
- Support the P&C Generalist team in providing business-facing assistance, acting as the primary point of contact for HR queries.
- Provides project support by assisting with people-related initiatives.
Payroll & Benefits
- Assist in administering employee benefit programmes and compensation processes.
- Coordinate with third parties such as benefit providers and wellbeing platforms
- Drive communication and engagement by promoting benefits through guides, FAQs, and events to boost employee understanding and uptake.
Learning & Development
- Assist with coordinating training sessions and workshops for employees
- Support the development of learning materials and e-learning resources
- Help track employee learning progress and maintain training records
- Contribute to initiatives that promote continuous professional development across teams
Talent Acquisition & Early Careers:
- Support the hiring and onboarding of new employees
- Assist with planning and running assessment centres and engagement events
- Help coordinate candidate communication and logistics
- Help welcome and integrate new employees into McLaren, ensuring a smooth transition.
Employee Experience & Culture:
- Contribute to initiatives that support employee wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion
- Assist in collecting and analysing feedback from surveys and events
- Support planning and delivery of culture-building activities across the business
- You must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 or above in a relevant degree in Social Sciences, people-focused disciplines, Business Management, or other relevant fields.
- A strong interest in people-focused challenges within high-performance business environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with sensitive topics
- Some familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and an interest in data analysis or HR systems (e.g. SAP) is advantageous
