Purpose of Role

1.     Responsible for conducting initial problem analysis / assessment of potential supplier quality liability for ‘Non-Conforming Material’ (NCM), with responsibility to manage:

o      The subsequent containment process professionally.

o      The communication of status to the relevant support functions and suppliers. 

2.     Responsible across all shift models and for components within production areas

3.     Focused on supplier quality related activities as part of a larger Quality team that will deliver visible and measurable improvement of the production supplier base by implementing best practice automotive quality, cost recovery and supply chain strategies.

Principal Accountabilities

1.     To assist in managing supplier quality defects within MPC/MTC by doing line sweeps, stock checks and contacting supplier/3rd party inspection providers by email/telephone to escalate level 0 concerns to make sure the required 24 hr containment is in place.

2.     On line easy reworks/quick fix to be done with approval from engineering if required on line to prevent a line stop situation.

3.     Logging concerns on the hotline tracker with all required information, pictures. Creation of inspection plans and finally raising an FI on SAP and requesting 8D’s from suppliers and monitoring supplier progress of 8D to step 4 (Level 0 concerns)

4.    Movement of stock of Non-Conforming materials to relevant SAP locations in a timely manner to ensure physical location always matches systematic location in SAP

5.     Suspect material is identified and quarantined within parts quality storage MPC-1

6.    Ensuring supplier quality failures do not incur losses or downtime

7.     Produce regular daily end of shift containment open/close hotline reports including action plans for part quality engineering if level 1 escalation is required.

8.    Current Production/MPA Support, interface with parts quality Engineering team and SQA management team to ensure issues are prioritised and addressed in a timely manner to minimise any effect on production and quality targets.

9.    Ensuring correct application of supplier cost recovery and transaction approval from Parts Quality Engineering
