Purpose of Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled, motivated individual to join our Ultimate Series paint team. Experience working on prestige vehicles essential. The successful applicant will be expected to work in all areas of the bespoke paint process on all models/ projects ranging from production series projects, bespoke commissions, and future model concepts including the Solus GT
Principal Accountabilities
  • To join the bespoke paint team currently working MTC Paint on all models/ projects.
  • Modifications and restorations of body and paint on all models/ projects.
  • Supporting production line modifications to current models/ projects.
  • Be skilled in the measuring and fine detail masking of bespoke painted liveries converting a design render to reality.
  • Work closely with all departments to produce bespoke paint orders on plan and accurately 
  • Be fully skilled to cover absences within the bespoke paint team with flexible approach to working additional hours as required to meet set deadlines.
  • Always adhere to H&S safe working practices by following policy for PPE use and following instruction for use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and endorse McLaren values and culture in support of the brand. (Housekeeping, attitude, appearance etc)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience of automotive body and repair/ restoration/ manufacturing essential.
  • Experience in fine detail graphics masking essential
  • The successful applicant needs be fully skilled in all paint and body process areas from panel preparation, filler work/ spray painting to end of line polishing.
  • Previous experience with McLaren vehicles/ paint processes would be a distinct advantage.
  • Understanding of panel surface quality requirements that effect final paint finish essential.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Airbrush/ custom painting skills and experience are a distinct advantage.
  • PC literate in Microsoft applications preferred.
