As an Offline Vehicle Technician your primary responsibility is to facilitate and support the repair of offline vehicles, ensuring their seamless reintroduction into the McLaren Production Centre workflow. Additionally, you will provide valuable feedback for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to enhance processes and product quality
- Collaborate closely with the team to diagnose and repair high-quality production vehicles, including mechanical tasks such as powertrain removals, electrical work, and body panel removal/refit.
- Efficiently coordinate personal vehicle reworks, managing conflicting priorities within tight deadlines to achieve overall objectives effectively.
- Escalate effectively when a risk to achieving the plan is evident.
- Foster strong working relationships with core team members to ensure effective problem resolution and streamlined communication of technical issues.
- Adhere to offline vehicle/dealer portal processes to ensure compliance with all vehicle reworks.
- Maintain accurate documentation for thorough record-keeping and sign-off procedures.
- Deliver vehicles to the production Centre at the highest mechanical and aesthetic standards in alignment with the McLaren brand.
- Ensure adherence to McLaren's health and safety policies and uphold best working practices at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility within the wider team, willing to undertake additional workshop-based duties when required
- Hold a Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification or possess relevant experience, with preference given to both.
- Exhibit extensive vehicle build experience, ranging from whole-vehicle down to component level.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of vehicle architecture and demonstrate competence in the safe use and operation of supporting automotive equipment.
- Demonstrate experience and proficiency in contributing to component and system fault diagnosis.
- Display a good degree of computer literacy to effectively navigate relevant systems and tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and build instructions accurately.
- Function as a team player, capable of motivating oneself and others to deliver high standards consistently, even under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance workshop efficiency.
