What to Expect

We are recruiting for a NVH Senior Engineer to join our fantastic NVH team in Idiada. As the Senior Engineer you will be required to ensure vehicle sound quality and NVH refinement targets for McLaren products are achieved. You'll be an NVH Attribute Lead responsible for a range of future products. You will work closely with other NVH engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver all aspects of vehicle NVH (i.e. Powertrain Sound and Vibration, Road & Wind noise, Operational Sounds, Legal Requirements) from  early stage to launch.

What You'll Do
  • Leading complete vehicle NVH development and validation activities for specific programmes, including target setting, establishing assessment plans and coordinating activities for performance improvement, if needed.
  • Delivery of vehicle NVH attribute on time and quality through  simulation tools and test data analysis.
  • Defining and performing the DVP according to the high level plan and vehicle contents
  • Troubleshooting and RCA analysis via basic/advanced NVH methologies (e.g. Source localization, TPA)
  • Supporting and integrating the validation plan with subjective assessment, with a special focus on the PTSQ.
  • Defining all the strategy for the base engine calibration, exhaust map and sound devices.
  • Project track in terms of gateways, deliverables, KPI and One Page for business escalation
  • Supporting GTD, Press Event and Project hand over to Series
  • Supporting the NVH benchmarking activities
  • Working closely with the Function Group (PWT, Chassis and Body) to ensure that new vehicles meet NVH targets within project budget and timescales, ensuring all the gateways are met.
What You'll Bring

  • Good knowledge of whole vehicle and subsystems, NVH development phases and testing methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of PWT/Hybrid , intended as Base engine, Transmission, Driveline and Engine systems, E-Motor and Related Strategy
  • Methodological approach to engineering problem solving
  • Good skills for vehicle NVH subjective evaluations and VER
  • Ability to use MS Office and related NVH Test engineering software such as SIMCENTER Testlab for operational data acquisition and analysis, Head Acoustics and B&K for Pass By.
  • Psycoacostics metrics for Sound Quality, Tonal Noise and Prominence
  • Good written and oral English skills.
  • More than 5 years direct OEM NVH experience, with a preference from Sport cars.
  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering degree
