Purpose of Role

Qualified NVH engineer with experience in NVH test setup and data interpretation skills. The role, Spain based,  will support complex cross vehicle NVH issues (powertrain, body and chassis related) within the McLaren production centre and UK based vehicle development, this will include working across series production and development projects.

To lead an NVH project during the final gateways until the commercial launch.

Working cooperatively with Body/Powertrain Control/Electrical Concept to deliver cross

functional attributes, with special focus on Squeak and Rattle.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Is degree qualified or has similar qualification in either Design, Engineering or related fields.
  • 2/3 years of industry experience in the automotive field is strongly preferred.
  • Has a good knowledge of the Engineering process, build process, delivery gateways and their application within the DVP.
  • Competent and proficient in Siemens Test.Lab, Microsoft Office software products; others majors NVH SW like Head Acoustics or B&K would be a benefit.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Fundamental aspects of vehicle acoustics such as Road Noise, Wind Noise, S&R, PWT noise and Sound Quality.
  • Target setting and deployment process.
  • Good knowledge of the main vehicle systems and a well structured approach to NVH problem solving using standardised tool.
  • Good knowledge of signal analysis, time and frequency domain, FFT, instrumentation set up and data acquisition/analysis.
  • Subjective NVH vehicle evaluation
  • Computer skills: ability to use related NVH Test engineering software such as Siemens Test.Lab, data post processing and analysis, CANape ans similar sw, MS Office.
  • Good oral English and communication capability.
  • Experience: More than 2 years direct OEM NVH experience in Automobile industry.
