The Logistics Operations Team Leader will be responsible for day-to-day operations and allocation of resource to various tasks, sometimes across multiple locations to receive, hold and issue parts in support of all projects undertaken by the McLaren Motorsport team including Motorsport Production, Development and McLaren Events / Championships.
As Motorsport continually introduces new products, programmes, and expands the customer base, this role will be responsible for coordinating the internal and external MAL activities with multiple stakeholders to ensure this is achieved on-time and to a high standard.
- Oversee the daily allocation of tasks within Motorsport Logistics Operations
- Be a point of contact for key stake holders across MAL, to allow for smooth logistics integration within other areas of the business
- Apply a continuous improvement approach to all aspects of the Motorsport Logistics department
- Delivery of a perpetual inventory process achieving 97%+ stock accuracy
- Working with other departments and managers within McLaren Motorsport to help grow and develop the people and processes, to aid the growth of McLaren Motorsport’s responsibilities
- Support trackside operations ensuring minimal impact to McLaren Customer Racing teams from a parts supply aspect, as well as resource during a race weekend as and when required
- Must have Logistics Operations experience preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Background in Motorsport manufacturing and trackside logistics preferable
- Good IT skills particularly in Microsoft Office Programmes and SAP
- Knowledge of automotive parts would be a distinct advantage
- Proven ability to communicate status of progress, risks and opportunities appropriately to management
- Excellent people management, interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong decision making and analytical/problem solving skills
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and desire to keep up with industry changes
