Purpose of Role

McLaren sells a wide range of consumer merchandise and licensed products through authorised resellers, B2B activities and an expanding eCom business.

Globally McLaren Automotive has a portfolio of 108 retailers. Our retailers are the window into our brand and own the relationships with our customer base. A key part of the retailer strategy includes selling authentic branded merchandise through the retailer showrooms to build brand affinity and generate revenue.  

This role will report to the Business Development Manager within the Merchandise, Licensing and Partnerships department. The purpose of this role will be to develop and manage delivery of the B2B retailer merchandise programme for McLaren Automotive (dealerships). This will include supporting merchandise ranging, facilitating sales of merchandise, financial monitoring /reporting and administrative duties regarding retailer order queries and issues.

Providing excellent coordination support, this role will contribute to deliver sales and profitability to a growing, revenue generating department and servicing our dealerships globally. This role will also include managing the Automotive Sales & Marketing team kit ordering and allocation process via our team-kit partner.


Principal Accountabilities
  • Sales support for the development and delivery of the Automotive retailer merchandise programme in conjunction with our merchandise partner and McLaren Racing B2B merchandise team.
  • Collaboration with McLaren Racing and our Merchandise Partner on upcoming product launches – develop retailer facing merchandise sales assets/packs
  • Support with product approvals, pricing, and operational sales tasks of delivering the merchandise programme
  • Maintain and update B2B merchandise sales assets throughout the season
  • Tracking engagement of retailer network with ranges
  • Supporting tasks to deliver sell-in of the new ranges to retailers via Wholesale windows, Online platform launch, Sales and finance reporting
  • Account management of Automotive retailers and internal teams regarding the merchandise programme including but not limited to:
  • Supporting with sales order enquiries and issues
  • Respond to day-to-day merchandise enquiries
  • New account onboarding/training
  • Sales reporting by account, tracking against agreed targets
  • Sell-in of new products and ranges
  • Identify and support new opportunities for product ranges/bespoke offering etc
  • Running customer feedback/surveys
  • Escalation of issues to management
  • Supplier management of our third-party merchandise partner, including but not limited to
  • Be the dedicated contact for day-to-day account support and facilitation.
  • Attend partner sales meetings with Business Development Manager, and compile meeting notes, follow up and action points.
  • Support our merchandise partner to deliver their service obligations – providing necessary assets, access to information and access to internal experts as required
  • Monitor and report on service delivery VS contracted Service Level Agreements
  • Escalation of service issues faced, supporting with resolution and communication support
  • Attend weekly operational status reviews
  • Complete the account invoicing/financial tracking
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders within the Sales and Marketing department, in particular in market leads (US, APAC & EMEA).
  • Implement best practice merchandise and sales process across the retailer merchandise programme.
  • Support on retailer merchandise product portfolio, product development processes and product approvals with brand and design teams.
  • Establish reporting procedures internally and externally to track key sales KPIs.
  • Management of team kit ordering and allocation process. Managing team kit delivery to all Sales & Marketing teams in accordance with the internal team kit policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience, ideally in account management / customer service support and merchandise programs. Previous experience in working with and managing agencies and suppliers desirable.
  • Knowledge of, and passion for automotive, merchandise and sales. 
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage critical paths and projects on time.
