What to Expect
The Packaging & Warehouse Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the transformation of packaging, warehouse processes and material flow standards across Logistics. The role is accountable for delivering measurable improvements in cost, space utilisation, operational efficiency, quality, launch readiness and supply chain performance, underpinned by lean principles, robust data governance and practical shopfloor execution.

Why This Role Matters:
This is a high-impact role at the centre of Logistics transformation, working cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and external logistics partners. The successful candidate will help shape future-state material flow, packaging strategy, PFEP governance and operational standards within a fast-paced, premium automotive environment.

What You'll Do
• Packaging Strategy, Standards and Material Flow:
o Lead the review and improvement of packaging and warehouse processes to remove waste, reduce handling touches and support a practical “one touch logistics” approach.
o Define lineside feed strategies that optimise material flow from 3PL to lineside, reduce lineside footprint and improve part presentation for Manufacturing.
o Own the definition, implementation and governance of packaging standards to improve component protection, transport utilisation, handling efficiency and sustainability.
o Oversee the design, review and internal stakeholder sign-off of all new packaging solutions, ensuring parts are protected, handling requirements are understood, and packaging supports seamless delivery from supplier through 3PL to lineside.
o Own the development, governance and continuous improvement of the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) database, ensuring robust data quality, standardised structures and effective use across Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain.
o Define, calculate and implement accurate packaging loop sizes for new model launches, ensuring container quantities, cycle times, supplier flows, 3PL processes and lineside requirements are correctly aligned before launch.
o Develop and implement standard operating procedures that improve process control, productivity, quality and repeatability across packaging and warehouse operations.
o Apply lean manufacturing tools and methodologies, including Kaizen and Six Sigma where appropriate, to identify, prioritise and deliver sustainable process improvements.
o Establish and maintain a returnable container management system that provides clear visibility, control and accountability for company-owned packaging across the supply chain.
o Drive the optimisation of 3PL space, labour and equipment utilisation through data-led improvement activity and effective partner collaboration.
Continuous Improvement, Projects and Launch Readiness:
o Lead continuous improvement projects from opportunity identification through to implementation, ensuring delivery against agreed timing, cost, quality and benefit targets.
o Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics and external partners to deliver aligned and sustainable solutions.
o Track and report project progress, risks, benefits, KPI performance and improvement outcomes to stakeholders and senior management.
o Drive Logistics launch readiness for new vehicle programmes, including packaging validation, accurate loop-size implementation, supply chain design, lineside readiness, part presentation, risk mitigation and 3PL alignment.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Governance:
o Build strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, suppliers and 3PL partners to ensure packaging, material flow and warehouse solutions are aligned to business requirements.
o Establish clear governance for packaging reviews, decision-making and stakeholder sign-off, ensuring requirements are understood, risks are resolved and agreed standards are implemented consistently.
o Facilitate cross-functional discussions to balance operational efficiency, quality protection, cost, sustainability, supplier capability and launch timing when defining new or revised packaging solutions.
o Provide clear communication, escalation and progress updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring packaging and logistics decisions are visible, timely and effectively embedded into operational plans.

• Data, Performance and Benefits Delivery:
o Collect, analyse and interpret operational data to identify trends, root causes, constraints and opportunities across packaging, warehouse and material flow processes.
o Translate data insights into practical improvement actions, quantified benefits and clear recommendations for operational and senior leadership teams.

• Leadership, Capability and Culture:
o Coach, train and mentor warehouse, packaging and logistics teams in continuous improvement principles, structured problem solving and standardised ways of working.
o Build a proactive continuous improvement culture that encourages ownership, collaboration, practical innovation and sustained problem resolution.
o Lead workshops, kaizen events and training sessions to strengthen team capability and embed improved processes.

• Quality, Compliance and Operational Control:
o Ensure packaging and warehouse processes comply with safety requirements, quality standards, company procedures and relevant industry expectations.
o Implement process controls that protect product integrity, improve operational discipline and reduce quality, delivery and handling risk.

• Resource, Supplier and 3PL Management:
o Optimise the use of people, equipment, materials and logistics assets to improve warehouse and packaging performance.
o Work with suppliers and vendors to improve packaging materials and solutions, reducing cost and environmental impact.

• Performance Monitoring:
o Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement activity.
o Provide regular updates to senior management on operational performance, improvement progress and delivered benefits.

What You'll Bring
