To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company” we are looking for an Licensing & Business Development Specialist to join team. Purpose of the role: Reporting into the MLP Manager a new role within the department to support the growth and strategy of the licensing/partnerships programme for McLaren Automotive. A client facing role critical in leading new business acquisition to maximise the value of the McLaren (Automotive) brand through licensing and partnership opportunities
Principal Accountabilities
Principal accountabilities: Identifying business opportunities product gaps route to market and brand appropriate Licensees/Partners within sectors including lifestyle tech hard-lines and digital markets via thorough due diligence and market trend analysis Evaluate scale of addressable market for McLaren Automotive considering brand and financial inputs. Present new business opportunity to prospect 3rd parties presenting McLaren Automotive in a professional manner Supporting the commercial and financial negotiation of all McLaren Automotive licensing & partnership agreements working closely with in-house Legal Dept and supporting marketing teams Support account management of key Licensees/partners to drive new business opportunities and maximise success to ensure long-term commercial arrangements Agree and devise Global marketing activations with key licensees/partners to maximise product exposure and income whilst generating collaborative opportunities Constantly monitoring existing Licensees product offering to ensure an innovative and competitive program is developed and compliant with brand and market standards Management and analysis of the Licensing royalty reporting process; working closely with key Licensees on annual financial forecasts and business plans to drive excess income whilst identifying potential risks to the business Management of Licensing Specialist and external agency
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge skills & experience: Minimum 2-3 years licensing experience Good understanding of the licensing process and licensed product development Strong negotiation and contract management skills Financial royalty experience including tracking and reporting Experience leading and managing a team and agency Automotive experience a positive but not necessary Luxury sector experience highly desirable Additional languages would be beneficial to in this global role We recognise that we can only achieve our vision with the dedication and collaboration of our world class employees.
