What to Expect
  • Managing engineer(s) who will together with the Lead Engineer deliver on the responsibilities listed below;
  • Define software strategies changes for ECM and HyCU and their interactions between themselves and the rest of the vehicle to help deliver overall functionalities (torque structure, powertrain activation, pullaway, shifts, etc…) and the roadmaps of Attributes teams (Driveability, Emissions, etc…);
  • Interface with the ES&C team to define CAN signals, ECM pinout;
  • Interface with Attributes teams to collect their requirements and ensure integration of those within the system
  • Support ES&C Systems team to review SDS requirements to ensure that SDS and the SW implementation are matching; Systems team is responsible for maintaining SDS requirements in Jama;
  • Deliver ECM SW and Calibrations to the various stakeholders (Powertrain Controls team, Suppliers, Architecture/MPC, Aftersales)
  • Managing the budget definition and utilisation for ECM SW development.
What You'll Do
  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Controls or Automotive fields.
  • Deep knowledge of Engine, Hybrid systems and Controls fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Bosch Engine Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Calibration tools like ETA INCA/MDA, AVL Concerto
  • Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink use
  • Good ability to balance the needs to different attributes to achieve the best overall product possible.
  • Experience of software requirements capture and detailed software design into specifications
  • Model-based control software development and verification would be beneficial.
  • Extensive experience of approaches & techniques required to achieve compliance to industry standards for functional safety, diagnostics & software development
  • Automotive experience, with excellent understanding of vehicle product development processes.
  • Able to guide fault investigation / resolution of existing products and taking lessons learned to apply to future products.
  • Great attention to detail and an attitude to produce ‘right first time’ quality work.
  • Good driving experience, confidence in driving high-performance cars and clean driving licence
