What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Lead Clay Modeller to join our fantastic Design Team in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Reporting to Head of Design Modelling Operations, you will be responsible for creating world class models to support the design development process.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain detailed programme plans, schedules, and deliverables for assigned vehicle design projects.
  • Exterior and Interior Clay model Production within the Modelling Studio.
  • Working closely with Designers and interpreting their direction to develop clay models 
  • that fully represent design intent.
  • Using Clay modelling experience to produce surface solutions that act as a catalyst for 
  • design development.
  • Liaising with CAS and Engineering teams to be aware of and achieve Design targets and 
  • hardpoints.
  • Working with Model Project Lead to develop and integrate Hard Parts into Clay models when required.
  • Creation and presentation of assets for review at Board and Founder level.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven extensive experience in the production of Clay model properties in both sketch modelling and clay modelling of milled surfaces both at scale and full size.
  • Extensive experience in Clay model dressing processes and requirements for presentations. From working level reviews up to Board level model reviews
  • An understanding of design properties and materials and an awareness of the design studio environment.
  • Interpreting drawings, sketches, renders and CAD data.
  • Strong background in related Hard Modelling processes
  • Safe Operation of workshop tools and machinery
  • Proficient use of CMM plus CMM Milling Knowledge
  • 3D Hand Scanning Experience
