Purpose of Role

You will be part of a team that provides the Logistics Department with operational reporting and KPI analysis.  Providing key support in a dynamic and complex environment with focus across Supply Planning, Material Control, and Logistics Operation that enables the team to make decisions about current and desired performance. You will also provide key data to support decision making, and will need to effectively manage data and present it in a structured manner. 

The Inventory Analyst and Logistics Engineer will play a key role in developing and delivering innovative reporting solutions with clear data analytics as well as best in class material flow solutions that move the business forward, and underpin a streamlined, efficient operation.  

Principal Accountabilities
  • Perform inventory analysis and management to avoid low stock and overstock across all MSO inventory categories (production inventory, heritage inventory and bespoke commission inventory)
  • Develop and maintain department KPI’s to measure all factors which affect materials, supply planning and inventory
  • Run scenario planning considering the impact on production, sales, inventory, obsolescence and revenue
  • Create inventory forecasts which consider historical data, future supply vs. demand and challenge the consumption of slow moving or obsolete material
  • Drive the other areas of Operations to deliver against the forecasted inventory plan
  • Monitor and manage >98% stock accuracy for MSO material within all the MSO storage locations (MSO Unit 1, MSO Unit 4, MSO Axis Parcel, MSO PSA, MPC and UPL)
  • Drive packaging setup for all new MSO programmes. Source suitable packaging if required and drive packaging guidelines with the MSO supply base
  • Plan, agree, document and implement delivery strategies and control cycles with the McLaren main business logistics team for all bespoke material delivery into the production line
  • Maintain labelling of MSO lineside trollies to ensure seamless delivery of bespoke material to main production
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience of working in project teams to challenging deadlines
  • Confident in dealing with stakeholders, both internally and externally; ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met.
  • Ability to design reporting structures and put together presentation materials
  • Structured and organised approach to the management of work
  • Ability to interpret data accurately; providing analysis to support business strategies and decisions.
  • McLaren product knowledge is a key asset. Must understand the inventory on hand through the understanding of the product itself
  • Knowledge of MS Excel (Advanced) and MS PowerPoint (Intermediate)
  • SAP experience is a key requirement
  • Effectively able manage large amounts of data
