Purpose of Role
  • Plan and implement internal communications strategy for McLaren Automotive in coordination with the Executive Director, PR and Chief People & Transformation Officer
  • Co-ordinate, plan and produce the internal communications materials, across both desk-based and production-floor employees across multiple McLaren sites
  • Develop communications strategy to support people change programmes as required linked to McLaren’s Employee Value Proposition
  • Manage and deliver an “always on” vibrant employee culture and engagement programme
  • Internal events management

Principal Accountabilities
  • Work with a range of relevant stakeholders across the business to deliver the internal communications strategy and engagement plan, ensuring that business goals, initiatives and people news are communicated effectively
  • Plan and deliver internal communications for change programmes and workplace culture campaigns, championing the importance of employee voice, diversity and inclusion, collaboration, and wellbeing
  • Manage and continuously enhance internal communications channel infrastructure, utilising insights from feedback and evaluation to ensure effective targeting of messages
  • Write or produce high-quality, creative communication materials content in a consistent tone of voice through, both independently and working through others in the broader PR team
  • Manage the planning and delivery of significant internal communications events, both virtually and face-to-face
  • Align internal communications activities across the McLaren Group, in particular coordinating with McLaren Racing at key points
  • Build and foster relationships across business functions to understand requirements and ensure employees are engaged across multiple physical locations
  • Work with the HR leadership team in building a listening culture and build feedback mechanisms into internal communications to enable for a two-way dialogue with employees
  • Participate in any group-wide campaigns by the PR and marketing teams as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Relevant experience in an internal communications role, ideally in-house
  • Able to work effectively and productively with internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Manages multiple projects and tasks effectively, plans well so deadlines are met, and quality output is maintained, with effective deployment of finite resources
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
