What to Expect
The Buyer – Indirect Procurement will support the delivery of indirect procurement activities for the McLaren Automotive Ltd. The role is responsible for executing sourcing activities, managing supplier interactions, and ensuring compliance with McLaren procurement processes across categories such as facilities, IT, logistics, and professional services. 
What You'll Do
  • Deliver sourcing activities in line with project timelines and budgets.  
  • Execute RFx processes, including preparation of documentation, bid evaluation support, and supplier coordination.  
  • Support negotiations and assist in the placement of purchase orders and contracts.  
  • Ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority, Operational Approval Matrix, and procurement governance standards.  
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, documentation, and procurement trackers.  
  • Support supplier performance monitoring and issue resolution.  
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance) to support project delivery.  
  • Ensure procurement data accuracy and provide regular updates to the senior procurement team.

What You'll Bring
Qualifications & Experience (Essential) 
  • Previous experience in a procurement or buying role, preferably within indirect procurement in an automotive environment.  
  • Exposure to RFx processes and supplier engagement.  
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills. 
Qualifications & Experience (Desirable) 
  • Progress towards, or interest in, a CIPS qualification.  
  • Experience in facilities, construction, or capital project environments.  
  • Experience within automotive or advanced manufacturing environments. 
Location 
  • Based at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC), Woking, Surrey. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of three days per week onsite. Occasional travel may be required, primarily within the UK, with potential for European travel.
