What to Expect

Based in the region, the role requires management of all Regional office support, reporting to the Regional Director, including but not limited to; financial, legal and the HR infrastructure linked to the region including the management of the Financial results of both the McLaren Automotive region and the statutory legal entity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets and driving delivery against financial targets in region.

The role is responsible for the production of all financial results and forecasts for the region. Previous experience of not only producing, reviewing and challenging financial information but also working with the Regional Director to use the information to drive business performance. The role is also responsible for the management of regional tax matters, statutory reporting, local purchasing, and management of local legal issues and support to the HR infrastructure.

A knowledge of vehicle order to delivery import and customs process is mandatory to support the individual markets under the management of the North America regional team. This will include the customs assessment of new models, establishing commercial structures for new markets and the continued assessment of current commercial models.

The successful candidate will be able to work with a variety of teams across MAL to develop a financial strategy specific to region; and then work with the Regional Director and wider team to ensure that any key strategic initiatives are explored and implemented successfully. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to build relationships with different people from a variety of backgrounds to achieve a common goal whilst working both face-to-face and remotely. Ultimately, success in this element of the role will be the commercial partnership with the Regional Director to drive the execution of a regional specific plan that ensures successful delivery against the wider Business Plan.

The role requires someone who has experience working in the region with the ability to oversee operational responsibility for other functions such as the Commercial & Legal framework and impact on the People strategy within that region. These activities will require support and engagement with the central teams in the UK.

The successful candidate will be comfortable representing McLaren Automotive Limited in region to all third-party suppliers, dealers and financial institutes and with exposure to the senior management team in a previous organisation. Previous experience in the Automotive or Manufacturing sector is preferred.

What You'll Do
  • Maximise the return on MAL (McLaren Automotive Limited) products and services through partnering with the McLaren regional team, dealer business partners and third-party suppliers.
  • Accountable and responsible for the day to day Financial operations of the region
  • Responsible for oversight and management of all Financial matters of the regional business
  • Support to the delivery of the legal and HR framework necessary in reach region by liaising with global teams and external third parties.
  • Act as the key point of contact for financial queries relating to the statutory reporting for MAI.
  • Line management of a regional Finance Team
  • Develop and implement a region specific financial and operational strategy linked to the Business Plan
  • Involvement in and oversight of the development of financial information. This could range from the development of business cases for individual projects, to quarterly or ad hoc forecasts through to the financial modelling for the consolidated McLaren Automotive Group.
  • Monthly and annual regional financial reporting and audits.
  • Management of local taxation, local purchasing requirements and local representation to ensure smooth delivery of HR and legal support in the region.
  • Managing external relationships such as banks and government representatives.
  • Management of a small operational team, with the potential to grow the team depending on the growth of the role and region.
  • Manage the McLaren owned importerships within the North America region.
