Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Global Used Car Cycle Manager the Used Car Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the growth, expansion, and development of McLaren’s global used car sales through valuable insight, analysis, reporting and interpretation of data, as well as assisting in the operational management and development of the Global Used Car Programme. 

This role will assist in the identification, interpretation and presentation of valuable used car and residual value metrics and will support the Global Used Car Manager in steering the relevant strategies of McLaren Automotive.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Develop, process and enhance the global used car sales performance reporting suite to drive internal strategy and programme growth both within McLaren and the Authorised Retailer Network
  • Assist in the development and communication of annual Regional and Retailer used car sales performance targets
  • Support in the enhancement of internal systems to ensure all appropriate used car sales data is captured at point of sale and stored within the CRM system
  • Support in the strategic management and analysis of used car warranty pricing, claim performance and future opportunity, working closely with our supplier
  • Develop and maintain a suite of internal reporting dashboards to provide global visibility of McLaren and competitor residual value performance, working with various suppliers and McLaren colleagues around the world
  • Provide informed, strategic analysis and advice to senior management by translating relevant interpreted data in to a clear, concise, and visual format to support in explanation and obtaining buy-in
  • Support in identifying opportunity, challenges and threats to both McLaren and the global Authorised Retailer network, in growing the used car business
  • Support in the creation, maintenance and evolution of the Retailer operating standards, programme proposition and customer benefits of the used car programme and its supporting documentation
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of Used Car programme related communications both within McLaren and within the Retailer Network
  • Act to ensure used car programme growth is supported by the activity of all internal colleagues including within Training, Aftersales, Warranty and global teams
  • Assist in the strengthening and evolution of the global used car audit programme to ensure Retailer adherence to the McLaren used car operating standards
  • Due to the nature of this role, the Used Car Analyst will be responsible for the ownership and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously under the support of the Global Used Car Cycle Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Educated to Degree Level (or equivalent experience)
  • High level of commercial understanding
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Ability to convert data into meaningful and clear visual presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mind-set that contributes creative ideas towards strategic and tactical business challenges
  • An understanding of automotive sales would be beneficial but not essential
  • Some experience in agency / supplier management would be beneficial but not essential
