Purpose of Role

As the Global Digital Lead, you will orchestrate the strategic vision, planning, and execution for the entirety of our digital product suite, significantly augmenting McLaren Automotive's overall business value. Leading the digital team encompassing of digital product managers and digital marketeers, you will forge an unparalleled customer experience and foster growth for the business.

Your leadership will span a broad spectrum of digital products, from our Website and App to our Configurators. Besides maintaining a strong technical grasp, you will manage the delivery of our digital experience on customer-facing platforms, formulating a digital marketing strategy that addresses business goals, keeps to deadlines, and ensures superior quality.

Central to this role is a commitment to customer centricity, which serves as the driving force in creating tangible value for McLaren Automotive. As the Global Digital Lead, you will be required to place the customer at the core of all strategic decisions, from designing immersive digital experiences to shaping the overall product journey. By understanding and anticipating customer needs through constant research and analysis, you will create personalised, seamless interactions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. This deep level of engagement will drive growth, cultivate long-lasting relationships, and position McLaren Automotive as a leader in the digital landscape.

Principal Accountabilities

Digital Product Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the digital product vision and strategy that aligns with company objectives and market trends.
  • Lead, develop and manage the digital product team and supplier resources.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, for the product portfolio (Web, Configuration and App)
  • Drive systems integration efforts and foster continuous improvement with a focus on conversion rate optimisation.
  • Develop customer data strategies, cultivate insightful product analytics, and enhance customer personalisation.
  • Devise and manage the customer journey across all digital touchpoints.
  • Conduct and leverage customer research to shape the digital strategy and product development.

Digital Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that aligns with the digital product roadmap.
  • Drive the development of a digital marketing function, providing guidance and support to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive product adoption.
  • Analyse key performance metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent brand message.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging digital marketing technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cultivate robust supplier relations, ensuring seamless operations and collaborations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in product management, ideally in a Product Manager/Owner role.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms such as Adobe Analytics, SEO tools, Ad tech, email marketing and social media strategies.
  • Team leadership and management experience, with ability to demonstrate the development of a team’s skills and capabilities empowering team members to deliver high value work.
  • Proven success in end-to-end delivery of high-performing products.
  • Deep understanding of Digital Experience Platforms (DXPs) and integration of data sources.
  • Expertise in managing and developing multi-layered and multilingual systems.
  • Prior e-commerce experience preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale, global project management.
  • Proficiency in digital analytics and ROI reporting.
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not a requirement.
