What to Expect

An opportunity exists for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join the Fleet Team, supporting Press and Marketing activities involving high-performance vehicles.

Role Dimensions:

Reporting to the Senior Fleet Leader, the Fleet Technician will be based at Unit 6 in Woking. The role requires extensive travel, with approximately 75% of time spent supporting UK and international events.

This includes:

  • Short-notice assignments
  • Unsociable hours and frequent weekend work
  • Extended periods on location (sometimes exceeding three weeks)

The remaining 25% of the role will be workshop-based in Woking.


What You'll Do
  • Extensive travel working as part of a small team supporting the marketing and press fleet vehicles.
  • Supporting marketing events of high-performance McLaren vehicles worldwide.
  • Workshop duties will include regular off-site UK, European and Global preparation/support of various McLaren vehicles.
  • Performs diagnostics, maintenance and repairs while maintaining company standards
  • Uses manufacturer diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality
  • Maintains a working knowledge of new vehicles and works to enhance and improve that knowledge with new vehicle models and new standards, practices, and technologies
  • Keeps work area clean, neat and to company standards, especially to ensure safety of all team members
What You'll Bring
  • Experience of working with high performance vehicles.
  • Experience of workshop diagnostic tools.
  • IT literate in various packages e.g. Microsoft Office.
  • Clean Driving Licence

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Willingness to travel, working for extended periods away from home.
  • Should be well-organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work well alongside a team of Technicians or alone.
