Purpose of Role

  • Support the development of FINISHING (robotic de-flashing, post-curing, robotic trim&drill work cells, measurement and validation, 5 axis CNC machining, and others) processing technology for carbon composites components
  • The scope of the role covers all projects from R&D stage to implementation into series production

Principal Accountabilities

  • Produce R&D composites components or samples as required for the purpose of the development programme utilising the available facilities and equipment
  • Identify opportunities and ideas to reduce cost and improve quality and productivity of the manufacturing processes that are being developed
  • Provide DFM (Design For Manufacturing) input to the Design and Engineering teams to make sure the design is optimised in line with the manufacturing processes being developed
  • Provide a proactive contribution to innovation and problem solving
  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A previous background in composites, automotive, automation, robotics, textiles, CNC machining or plastics manufacturing is essential
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as computer-controlled machinery
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental regulations is preferred
  • PC literate
