What to Expect

A part-time role (circa 25 hours a week) reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, taking ownership of financial control, planning and reporting for 4 central business entities within the McLaren Group.

What You'll Do

Financial control:

  • Monthly postings to accounting system (SAP), ensuring general ledger accounts are maintained and accurately reflect the financial performance/position of entities.
  • Maintaining working schedules
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, involving reconciling the general ledger to the financials reported by the business and understanding any variances.
  • Performing month-end variance analysis to support operational colleagues in delivering business objectives.
  • Making purchase ledger payments
  • Preparation of VAT Return
  • Performing cash flow reviews

Financial planning:

  • Preparation of thrice-yearly forecast
  • Performing weekly cash flow forecasting

Financial reporting:

  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts for subsidiary entities
  • Liaising with external auditors, and the preparation of audit deliverables for the half year and full year audits
  • Supporting the Group Reporting team with various regular tasks and occasional ad-hoc technical, financial or business projects, such as:
  • Assistance with preparation of year end statutory accounts for other Group entities
  • Assistance with regular consolidation of Group results and forecasts
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years’ experience working in accountancy or finance.
  • An accountancy qualification/part-qualification would be beneficial (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent) or a desire to undertake a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge and experience of financial accounting and reporting systems (particularly SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud and Caseware Working Papers) would be beneficial.
  • Self-motivated and driven to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong team working ethic.
