Purpose of Role

Responsible to create, design and implement Finance systems, data, controls, processes, and procedures that are robust, effective, well-communicated and trained to ensure Finance operates as efficiently and effectively as possible so that it can help the group achieve its long-term goals.

Principal Accountabilities

·           Creates and maintains a continuous improvement roadmap based on the practical, operational and strategic needs of Finance so that it is able to support and drive the delivery of the group’s goals.

·           Analyses the ongoing requirement of Finance, identifies needs and translates these into systems and process solutions.

·           Designs and delivers improvements to SAP, other associated finance systems and surrounding processes to improve departmental efficiency.

·           Works alongside the financial control, FP&A and business partnering teams to improve the quality, timeliness, and relevance of financial reporting across the whole business.

·           Project manages improvements to systems, data, processes, and procedures using appropriate project management techniques.

·           Defines, updates and embeds the required business process documentation in conjunction with the business process owner.

·           Communicates with Finance leaders and the wider Finance team on the CI roadmap, projects in consideration and progress of improvements in development.

·           Acts as a centre of excellence on finance systems and their integration to related processes, policies, procedures, data and system roles.

·           Manages relevant third-party supplier relationships and assigned budgets

·           Maintains SAP Master Data

·           Drives accountability for the creation, update and delivery of system training materials and liaison with key stakeholders to ensure all users are trained in an appropriate timeframe.

·           Coordinates the provision of first line support to Finance, identifies required changes and implements improvements

·           Provides support to Finance on KPIs/data/insight on the effectiveness of business processes and process adherence

·           Technical expert for internal control guidance and escalation

·           Ensure core financial process cycles are documented with key controls highlighted

·           Perform periodic process walkthroughs and testing of key controls to ensure operating effectiveness

·           Ensure that any control findings identified through internal and/or external audit engagements are addressed with appropriate internal control remediation.

·           Directly performance manage, coach and develop Senior CI Analyst



Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·            Qualified accountant

·            Strong existing SAP knowledge and skills

·            Experience of partnering with senior managers to produce strategies for systems, data management, processes, and procedures

·            A clear understanding of the commercial drivers of the business and how systems, data management, process and procedures can play a key role in the success

·           A good knowledge of approaches for driving the improvement of systems, data management, processes and procedures, with evidence of successful delivery and a focus on ROI

·            Strong project management skills

·            Able to act as a centre of excellence that is successfully embedded into the Finance team

·            Able to multi-task and manage different people and personalities across the business
