In this role you, alongside the finance planning team, will be responsible for smooth and effective forecasting and planning cycles. Coordinating various profit and cash analytical activities covering the end-to-end P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow, whilst supporting the team by continually maintaining and improving our financial models and tools. Success in this role will be reflective of the business plan being translated into operational financial plans that the business can use to track towards their financial targets.
Working within the planning team who deliver the long-term business plan, annual budget and monthly reforecasts. At McLaren Automotive we set an annual budget once a year, and reforecast on a monthly basis. This activity covers the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow and requires cross-organisational collaboration with colleagues across finance and the business functions.
Here you will have the opportunity to learn how a business sets a wholistic business plan and then works through the year towards hitting the targets.
- Edge, Skills and Experience Finance, economics or STEM degree qualification CIMA, ACA or ACCA part-qualified (desired) Technical systems / programming experience
- Track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships
- Advanced excel and financial / data modelling skills, comfortable working with large datasets and complex information coming from multiple sources (desired)
- Experience with Power Query and M Code, whilst not essential coming in, will be critical in successfully managing the on-the-job tools and processes. Therefore, any experience with database management systems such as SQL server and knowledge of Database Normalisation would be beneficial
- Strong educational background with either finance (accounting, finance, investment, economics) or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree.
- Passionate about problem solving coupled with an ambition to pursue a career in industry commercial finance / commercial management.
- Attention to detail with the ability to actively track and manage complex models.
- Comfortable with and motived to learn new technical systems / data management techniques. (This role will require advanced to expert Power Query and M-Code competence.)
