We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Analyst to join McLaren Automotive. This is both an accounting and business partnering role, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) for Corporate Functions. The role will support areas including Quality, Legal & Commercial, HR and IT, while also managing our key overheads. This role gives true visibility across McLaren and requires an applicant to be agile and flexible to work with multiple business partners and teams across the business.
Complete understanding and control of the business unit numbers; including actuals, forecasts and budgets will be a key part of the role, as well as ensuring the financial targets for the relevant business units are met, through collaboration with business partners, financial analysis, and the application of financial controls.
- Autonomy to manage the Corporate Functions of McLaren Automotive
- Be the main point of contact for financial queries and work directly with your business partners
- Understand key business unit KPI’s and find opportunities to drive costs down, reduce working capital and manage cash
- Ownership of the annual budget process for Corporate Functions
- Be responsible for the delivery of all financial reporting to the business units, including monthly performance reports and analysis
- Manage the month end process and journal postings
- Manage the financial performance, hold budget owners in your business units to account and analyse actual results against the approved business plan
- Regular meetings with business partners and key stakeholders
- Proactively identify risks to the business units and support opportunities
- Be a champion of robust business processes and financial controls
- Manage the development of forward-looking business plans and budgets, ensuring they are aligned to the company’s imperatives and that they are commercially robust
- Support the development of tools to help improve the forecasting and budgeting process
- 2-3 years of experience working in a financial setting are preferable
- Prior experience in the Automotive, Manufacturing or Engineering sector is beneficial
- Already working towards an accountancy qualification is desirable
- A strong passion for McLaren and knowledge of our products
- A keen interest to work in the automotive sector
- Confidence to communicate with stakeholders of all levels, up to the senior executive team
- A proactive self-starter who can independently manage their workload daily
- Prepared to be flexible and on hand to support team members when required
- The ability to translate complex financial data to non-finance colleagues
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential
