Purpose of Role

  • Finance support to the Product development/Operations team
  • Rotations around 3 different finance teams, Operations, Bill of materials and Product development

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Finance business partnering – support programme/operational activities, providing accurate and timely financial information to help guide decision making and set strategy
  • Control of programme/operational spend – maintain programme spend tracker, capturing approved items and forecast updates, update for month end actuals.
  • Risk and opportunity analysis – support commercial reviews, capture new risks and opportunities, maintain the risk and opportunities register
  • Budgeting and forecasting – provide inputs to budgets and forecast updates for programme spending and bill of materials
  • Reporting – update and distribute weekly finance KPIs and status reports
  • Month end – assist with journal preparation and posting for prepayment, accruals, headcount and cost transfers.
  • Requisition approval – review against budget, ensure financial data is correct, complete purchase requisition tracker and present high value item for director sign off.
  • Ad Hoc – data analysis, reviewing large sets of financial data and presenting in a clear format for business partner
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Strong academic background – A levels (A*-C)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excel skills – (Pivot tables, Vlookups, formulae and Graphs)
  • Comfortable with large volumes of data
  • Clear communicator with great stakeholder management skills.

All training for this role will be provided, this will include (upon completion of rotations) study support towards a professional qualification in accounting. Finance mentor will be provide to help guide you through the rotations and your professional qualifications.
