Own McLaren’s Atlassian ecosystem (e.g., Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence and related tooling) end-to-end. Act as the technology evangelist and accountable owner for platform strategy, governance, adoption and value delivery, while coordinating and assisting in technical delivery and providing enterprise-grade support.
- Platform ownership: define and maintain Atlassian platform vision, roadmap, guardrails and operating model (cloud/on‑prem as applicable).
- Governance & standards: establish configuration standards (workflows, schemes, permissions, naming, templates), manage technical debt, and assure auditability and compliance.
- Enterprise support: own incident/problem/change for Atlassian services; lead root cause analysis and continual service improvement.
- Technical delivery coordination: translate cross‑functional requirements into epics/backlog; coordinate delivery across IT, engineering teams and suppliers.
- Automation & integration: design/oversee automations, APIs and integrations (identity, DevOps toolchains, collaboration/reporting) to reduce friction and manual effort.
- Adoption & evangelism: run enablement (training, communities of practice, playbooks), coach teams on best practice usage, and drive consistent ways of working.
- Vendor & licence management: manage licences/add‑ons, evaluate marketplace apps, oversee renewals and cost optimisation.
- Metrics & reporting: define KPIs (usage, cycle time, service performance, adoption), provide dashboards and insights to stakeholders.
- Security & resilience: ensure role-based access, data protection, backup/restore, performance monitoring and upgrade/patch cadence.
- Leadership: mentor platform analysts/administrators and set delivery priorities.
- Strong hands-on administration of Jira/Confluence (and ideally Jira Service Management), including complex workflows, schemes, permissions, automations and reporting.
- Experience operating an enterprise collaboration/work management platform with governance, service management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with Atlassian marketplace apps, scripting/automation (e.g., ScriptRunner/Groovy), APIs and integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery and/or service management practices (Scrum/Kanban, ITIL concepts).
- Ability to lead cross-functional delivery, manage backlog and prioritisation, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
- Experience in championing organisation‑wide training, awareness, and best‑practice methodologies as a proactive technology evangelist, driving consistent adoption and continuous improvement across teams.
