What to Expect
The Vehicle Line Manager has overall responsibility to deliver the electrical systems content to vehicle programmes. As a direct report to the Head of EE Programmes, the role has responsibility for delivery of complete electrical systems for a full vehicle programme, delivering content at committed timing, budget and quality.
What You'll Do
  • Manages the overall feature implementation plan for the project, aligning project content with vehicle milestones and validation plans.
  • Responsible for all the vehicle electronics technical deliverables (attributes, DVP, DFMEAs, Part Release,...) of the project, in accordance to the McLaren Development Process (MDP) and ISO26262 requirements.
  • People management and deliverables responsibility of a programme delivery team made of a mix of both internal and external headcount across electrical hardware (including EDS) and software.
  • Responsible for the Electronics commercial deliverables (D&D/Tooling/BOM costs) for the project, in collaboration with the Electronics department Managers.
  • Define the electrical content budget for the project, in collaboration with PMO and programme Chief Engineers / Vehicle Line Directors.
  • Represent the “Electronics” department within the project team, reporting information, concerns and milestone achievements
  • In-Plant Support: Provide visible, proactive, and technically competent support during pre-production builds and launch phases.
What You'll Bring

  • A substantive amount of  experience with a demonstrated track record of project delivery.
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualification (mechanical, manufacturing, or automotive engineering preferred).
  • Team leadership within the automotive industry or similar domain.
  • Electronics architecture experience (harness, CAN/LIN protocols, ECUs, sensors) in automotive.
  • Body/Chassis and Software/Hardware project delivery experience for automotive applications.
  • Supplier partnership management.
  • Automotive market trend knowledge and experience of business model development (e.g. make vs buy)
